History of Bay Nursing INC.

Bay Nursing Inc. was founded by seven nurses with a strong desire to unite personal, professional and business needs to place nursing back into the hands of nurses. Bay Nursing Inc. today, is still owned and operated by Registered Nurses. The company originated in the Historic Village of Romeo.

The founders wanted a working environment that allowed men and women to have more flexible work schedules in order to promote a more rewarding professional life. Through entrepreneurship, we became active in national and local home care associations, which afforded us a series of networking with other health and home care professionals whose advice and support is enormous and invaluable. We learned a great deal about what people want from nurses and home care agencies by adopting our own Professional Advisory Committee and staying involved in community organizations.

BNI & BNSS employs a full-range of disciplines that provide skilled and private duty in the home care arena. The agency is Medicare Certified and serves the Macomb, St. Clair, East Oakland and S.E. Lapeer counties.

One of our goals in "getting back to basics", is to continue to encourage autonomy among our staff and to provide our patients with a direct link between themselves and the physician. The founders strive to promote independent judgment, diagnosis and wellness prevention in patients' homes. We would like to be a source of inspiration and a role model for others in the nursing profession to get "back to basics" in managing, coordination, and caring for their patients. By returning "back to basics", BNI-BNSS remains unique in its structure, partners, employees & future plans.
